When I was little, I frequently got in trouble for sneaking out of bed to read by the dim glow of my nightlight. By third grade I had to start wearing glasses, and I was told that my nighttime reading sessions were the reason. Now, my family has a history of bad eyesight, so my nocturnal literary adventures were probably not the cause of my hilariously bad vision—but even if they were, wearing glasses seems a small price to pay for lighting up my brain with stories and ideas.
Stories are my favorite thing. I studied English at Brigham Young University so I could read books and poetry and criticism. I loved reading and writing (and looking) so much, I earned an additional bachelor’s degree in Art History. I am fascinated by the myriad ways people share their stories—whether factual or fictional, visual or literary, musical or whatever else you have.
I live in northern Utah with my graphic designer husband and my two children, where I can still be found with my nose in a book at two or three in the morning.
